Engine Information

What parts are inluded with the engines?

Each engine comes in a different package; There are engines that come with the transmission and ECU - Engine Control Unit (computer), axles, engine mounts as well as half shaft. Some engines will only have the engine alone. Some will only have the engine and transmission. For more information, please view each engine description which defines a list of parts that will be included. Each engine will include, unless otherwise stated in the description, with the following parts: distributor, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, alternator, sensors, throttle body, fuel rail, complete cylinder block and cylinder head.

What is an engine "swap"?

An engine "Swap" simply means replacing your old engine in the car with another engine. There may be shops that will offer a price for your old engine. At JDM King Motors Corp., we do not offer or buy the old engines, we only sell used engines in the best condition with low milage.

What parts are not included with the engines?

Any part that would be on the engine bay and not the engine itself will not be included. Parts that WILL NOT be included are as such: Fuel pump, or radiator. These parts are on the engine bay and are not part of the engine. The engine wiring harness is sometimes included; they may be cut off or complete. For the majority of the engines you CANNOT use the Japanese wiring and you must use your existing wiring. Please refer to our product descriptions for the complete list of parts that will be inclused in teh engine package.

Is it required to change any part on the engine? Such as pulleys, belts, gaskets?

As far as Head Gaskets are concerned, they don't need to be changed unless there is an oil leakage. Timing belts, it is highly recommended to be changed on older engines. Drive Belts, it is always recommended to be changed since the belts may have hard ended from not utilized or run in several months.

Do turbocharged engines come with the Turbo?

Yes, all of our turbocharged engines come with the stock OEM turbo. The engines mechanically taken out of the cars and no parts were taken off the engine. Therefore, the engines come in a ccomplete form with all accessories and turbo.

 

Installation

Does JDM King Motors Corp., do any engines installation?

No, at this time, we DO NOT install any engines and transmission. We DO NOT provide any installtion guideline as well. The installation services will become available in the near future. But we do recommend other shops that does installation, please call us for additional information.

I have an 88-91 Honda Civic/CRX, what will fit into my car?

We suggest any Honda B series engine, B16A, B18C, B16B or B18B, but we DO NOT guarantee any any functionalities. Again, this is just a suggestion. I have a 90-93 Integra, what will fit into my car?

Mileage

How many miles do the engines have?

Honesty and integrity are our core values and motto. It is our policy to disclose the milage on the engine of your interest if the odimeter reading is known. And to be honest, we do not know the exact milage number on all the engines and if any of our competitors quote you a mileage figure, they are only guessing. THE 2500 MILE THEORY. This theory originated by taking the average yearly Japanese driving miles and multiplying that figure by the average years the vehicle stays in use in Japan. While this average might be close, it is not exact. We have been to Japan ourselves and we have seen actual cars with 25-35 thousand miles. It is rare that the mileage exceeds 60 thousand miles.

Do the Japanese have to sell their engines or junk their cars at a particular mileage or time?

NO! The Japanese car Inspection or Sha-ken as it is called in Japan, determines whether it is cost effective for a person to keep his/her vehicle. The inspection is a detailed biannual inspection that is very expensive, especially for older cars that may not pass. The owner is penalized heavily for any failures. The Canada and U.S. Department of Commerce can give you more info on this topic.

Why do JDM engines have lower mileage?

Two factors mainly define why less milage on JDM engines. One, Japan is very restrict about the environment; specially, the amount of smog in that regine. Two, Japanese people utilize the public transportation, therefore the cars are not driven as much. They also have bi-annual car inspection or Sha-ken as it is called in Japan, and determines whether it is cost effective for a person to keep his/her vehicle. Engines are also taken out of cars that have had an accident in the back or the side.

Do I get a receipt/invoice for my purchase?

Yes, once your payment is approved, an e-invoice will be emailed to the emial that was provided during account creation, and you can print it for your record.

Yes, once you have completed the online order transaction, an email will be sent to the email you provided with your confirmation number. We will also provide you with a receipt once the payment has been processed.

Is the ordering process secure?

What is the ordering process?

  • Day 1: You submit your order and we process your payment.
  • Day 2: We clean, prep and inspect your engine/item.
  • Day 2: We ship your engine/item and provide you with tracking information.
95% of orders will be shipped on the first or 2nd day.

Can I have an order shipped to a P.O.Box?

We are not shipping to any P.O.Boxes.

What do I do if I forget my password?

As a security precaustion, we will ask you to provide your email address that you had registed with us. We will then send you a password reset link.

How do I cancel or change my order?

All orders are electronically processed and forwarded to the warehouse immediately after the order is confirmed therefore, the window of opportunity to cancel an order is limited. No orders can be canceled after payment has been confirmed, as the order will be immediately processed for shipment. All orders placed from Friday after 5PM EST - Monday 9AM EST cannot be cancelled, as they are processed over the weekend for shipment. Please note that a 5% processing fee will be charged on all orders canceled by the customers.

What is the status of my refund?

It may take up to 10-15 days for your returned parts to be inspected by our warehouse and for credit to be issued back to your account. You will receive an e-mail from us once your credit is processed. If you paid with a credit card, a refund will appear on your credit card. If you paid with PayPal, a Money Order, or a check, you will receive a store credit for your return or cancellation. This is a security feature on our website. Please check the time on your computer and make sure the time and time zone are set accoringly. I recently returned an item, when will I receive a refund?

Refunds typically take up to 5 business days to be issued. Refunds will be issued in the same form of payment as you paid, (i.e. Credit card payments will receive credit to the same credit card used to place the order). We will send you an email confirmation once the refund has been issued.

Shipping

How long does shipping take?

Shipping depends on your locations, shipping can take between 3-10 working days. We will use FeDex ground to ship your order. Please use the tracking number or the tracking link provided to you.

What shipping company does JDM King Motors Corp.. use?

For all shipments (engine and transmission) going to the all States listed on the approved shipping lists within the U.S, we use FeDex Ground or UPS Ground.

Will I be provided with tracking information?

Yes, an email will be sent to the email provided informaing that your order has been shipped.

Can I have the engine/item shipped directly to the shop?

Yes, we can ship to any physical address and will require a signature. Shipping to an installation shop is always recommended.

Does King Motors Corp. ship to a commercial or residential address?

Yes, we ship to both; it is your choice where you want your engine/items to be shipped. We also offer free residential delivery, normally a residential delivery costs you $100 USD extra.

How much does shipping cost?

The shipping cost is determined by the States in which your physical addressed is located. To detemine the shipping cost, simply add an engine or item to the cart and select the state you want your order to be shipped.

I just placed my order. Will it ship today?

Please allow 24 hours for your order to process. Orders placed by noon EST usually ship the same day but we cannot guarantee that an order will be shipped the same day it is placed. Orders do not ship on weekends. Customer is responsible for ensuring that FedEx, UPS, and/or any other carrier used can deliver to specified shipping address.

Not all the parts came in the box!

Orders may ship from multiple warehouses, so parts may come in separate boxes.

What kinds of parts do you sell?

We sell almost every type of JDM auto parts, from engines to tail lights. We sell suspension parts (like struts & shocks), electrical parts (like alternators, starters, switches & relays), ignition parts (like distributors & coils), chassis parts (like ball joints, tie rod ends, springs), fuel & emission parts (like carburetors, fuel pumps, fuel injectors, oxygen sensors, EGR valves), little parts (like filters, wiper blades, & rear view mirror glass) and big parts (like radiators, engine blocks & complete JDM transmissions). We also also sell sheet metal, bumpers and carpets.

Where do your parts come from?

We import all used parts from parts, engines and transmission from Japan.

No, at this point we do not have a paper catalog. All available parts are listed on our website and out inventory continually gets updated.

Do you offer discounts for large orders?

No, but we do have a discount program for repeat customers.

Why are your prices so much lower than at my local store or dealership?

Our prices are lower because our costs are lower. And we have a large inventory located in the States and Japan that gets updated very often.

Are there any photos of the parts to make sure the right parts are ordered?

We provide photos of all the parts or at least most of the parts listed in our catalog and/or other descriptive information available.

Do you have the part I want in stock?

Unless our catalog states "Non-stock item--shipping delayed up to X business days" in the description, the part is available.
